About EthioCoding Academy

The idea for Ethiocoding Academy came to me when I was trying to help my neighbors learn how to code. I realized that most of the resources available were in English and didn’t connect with their background or learning style. Watching them struggle made me think—what if there was a way to teach programming in a language they fully understand? That’s when I decided to build a platform that teaches coding in Amharic, using simple, relatable lessons to make learning more comfortable and effective.

My name is Nahom Kassie Yimam, and my goal with Ethiocoding Academy is to give every student in Ethiopia the chance to explore programming without language being a barrier. In the future, I hope to expand the platform to include more advanced topics, build a supportive learning community, and reach students across Africa. I want to show that tech education can be inclusive, local, and empowering.

My name is Kaleb Kassie Yimam, and I am the co-founder and content manager of Ethiocoding Academy. When I noticed many young students struggling to learn coding due to a lack of accessible resources, I decided to create an academy that teaches coding in Amharic, in an engaging and relaxed way. I also use simple analogies and relatable examples to make complex coding concepts easier and more enjoyable to understand.
